Barberry, Organic Turmeric, L-Methionine
Barberry - A shrub with gray, thorny branches that can grow to about 9 feet tall. Bright yellow flowers bloom between the months of April and June and become dark, drooping bunches of red berries in the fall. The root, bark, and berries are used for medicinal purposes.
Studies showed that barberry had numerous health benefits, including hepato protective and hypoglycemic ones and can be used as a medicinal herb to treat a variety of injuries, such as diabetes, liver disease, gallbladder pain, digestive, urinary tract diseases, and gallstones.
Turmeric - Turmeric (Curcuma longa) has been used for 4,000 years to treat a variety of conditions. Studies show that turmeric may help fight infections and some cancers, reduce inflammation, and treat digestive problems.
Turmeric is widely used in cooking and gives Indian curry its flavor and yellow color. It is also used in mustard and to color butter and cheese. Turmeric has been used in both Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine as an anti-inflammatory, to treat digestive and liver problems, skin diseases, and wounds.
L-Methionine - Methionine (L-methionine) is a nutritional supplement as well as an essential amino acid found in food.
Methionine is required for normal growth and repair of body tissues; it cannot be made by the body, but must be obtained from the diet; thus, it is considered an “essential” amino acid.
Methionine is found in meat, fish, and dairy products, and it plays an important role in many cell functions. Methionine is used to prevent liver damage in acetaminophen (Tylenol) poisoning. It is also used for increasing the acidity of urine, treating liver disorders, and improving wound healing.
